The idea behind this was to establish a new workflow to improve the speed and quality of kitbashing in VR. Equally, it was an exercise in learning Houdini and Octane Render and also creating something that looks more cinematic. When refined I hope that this workflow enables me to achieve the final results in about one or two days from start to finish. Please scroll down for some breakdown images, videos and a 360 panorama.
-The cockpit is kitbashed inside VR (Microsoft Maquette) to have an instant feeling for layout, parallax and sense of scale
-Everything was processed through Houdini for welding the pieces and remeshing/UVs - with some preperation in ZBrush and Maya
-Textured in Painter
-Rendered in Octane
Kitbash pieces from:
-Andrew Averkin
-Jonathan Ching
-Oleg Ushenog
-Vitaly Bulgarov
Inspired by the works of Jama Jurabaev, Alex Senechal, Tor Frick and many others
